true p2p ability? I have a file that is big that I want to give to a friend. If I have limewire open, can he connect directly to me through his limewire. If I am on airport subnet, does that make a difference? Does my norton firewall make a difference. Thanks. mr noob |

If you can alread fileshare, those things shouldn't make a difference, b/c if u can use LW, your router is all opened correctly. Add him to your connections list, have him do the same to you. Browse each other and transfer. |

Yes... ...but if you are proposing an exchange of a significant quantity of data, Limewire is not really the best solution. The topology of Gnutella is very dynamic and you may well find your exchange disrupted. You would do better to consider using the file transfer system in a more stable connection package like ICQ. |
