Installing Programs

I have recently downloaded some large programs using Limewire for Mac, but I seem to be unable to launch them and install them.

Do I need to download strictly Mac programs? Or, do only mac programs download because I'm using Limewire for Mac?

Someone help, or at least tell me how to install the programs I downloaded.
