![]() I was using Limewire basic until yesterday when I purchased and downloaded Pro addition. Everything looks and seems to work the same as before. What is the difference with Pro and how can I tell if I am using Pro. Thanks, Chato |

![]() your question will probably get moved to a LW forum, but the quick answer is: no hidden difference. It's like they say on the LW home site. Look for "About Limewire" in the menus to see the version (on Mac at least). The real difference is that you are supporting the development of an opensource project--every advance the LW team makes to the code must be freely shared with anyone who asks for the code. And that is what this forum is about, so maybe your question does fit here. Welcome to gnutella--glad you're a supporter. Last edited by stief; August 26th, 2003 at 12:47 AM. |

![]() Very cool, Iwould like to lend my support, even if its only a few bucks. One observation as a neophyte. Alot of people, alot of my friends, gobble up/ download all the "free" services, but refuse anything that costs them a "dime". Almost like, if they pay ANYTHING, they're losing the game. Maybe I'll get that way with time and experience, but I sure hope not. Thanks For your feedback, Chato . |

![]() The irony is that I'm kinda glad your friends are that way--the commercial interests would love to change their minds. Gnutella is about freely sharing, but it costs! Still if it ever gets really successful, the steps have been built and are free for anyone. Ah! The old ideal of the public university! |
