 The software itself is legal (but I don't think it's because you paid for it). The illegal aspect of file sharing depends highly on what you're sharing/downloading. Now, since I'm no lawyer or anything, you should run a search in this forum with keywords such as "legal aspect". Whatever I know was taken from these forums soooo...
