Default uploads window

What does the word "remove" do? Am afraid to click it in case it trashes the tune.

Simply clears the file from the upload window. You can set uploads to clear automatically once completed. The option is different depending on whether the upload was finished or not. Sometimes an incomplete upload will have a different option. I can't remember which is which.

I’m also having trouble understanding “Remove” on the Uploads window. I’m running Limewire 5.3.6 & I’m using Cable. For my Uploads window, under Tools, Advanced, Transfers, I do not have it set to Clear uploads from list when finished. Under Tools, Advanced, Transfers, Uploads is set to allow 5 uploads at once.

At the end of each uploaded file/song it either displays “Done uploading” or “Remove”. Done uploading I do understand. Remove I do not understand. Does remove mean that the recipient cancelled the request, or a connection between myself & the recipient was lost or hiccupped or what exactly? I do not think that it means the same as Done uploading? When I select Clear Finished on the Upload window, it does clear the window of both Done uploading & Remove. I had 2 separate screen names scan my library & select many files within a short span of each other which began the uploads from me to them & I left my PC up. Many of 1 screen name displayed “Done uploading” while the other screen name displayed “Remove”. They were pretty much the only 2 folks downloading from me at that time.

My observation, after I Clear Finished & the items do disappear, after a second or two the files stating Remove quickly begin to display again. My interpretation of Remove after seeing the process on my PC is that perhaps the files showing Remove have unsuccessfully attempted a bid for an open upload slot and are again awaiting their time in the queue for an open Upload slot which has not become available to them yet. Because all of my 5 upload slots are already in use

I’ve scanned FAQ, User Guide, forums and can not find the correct specific answer. All help & specific information will be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes an upload host will lose connection with you for whatever reason, it will often continue at a later time in a separate listing on the uploads window. This is a characteristic of LW 5. LW 4 tended not to do this. So one of those messages represents those uploads that were 100% complete, and the other is for those that had a broken connection. Off-hand I cannot remember which is which, you can probably guess which is which yourself.
