Do she remember what the message was when LimeWire crashed. Try doing the .limewire fix in the link below.

The crash I've metioned in my conversation with LOTR was actually a Frost Wire crash, not a Lime Wire (sorry, I just copied that part of my post from a post I got a reply to from LOTR to a connection problem I had with both LW and FW -see here- http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...106#post199106 )
But I followed your link to the post of LOTR and of course tried again the .limewire fix (can't remember how many times I've already deleted this folder -I should already have a hole in my partition from doing so). I also tried/ am trying to download a movie from magnetmix (the_scene_xvid_episode 1, which has 31,196 KB). My download speed varies, as well as the number of hosts. 2-4 hosts with a download speed of 0-3 KB/s and frequently "Waiting on busy host", with Turbo Charged connection. I tried this download under varies set ups. Once with only this movie in my download field and all others canceled. Then once with all my incomplete downloads in the download field with "Awaiting hosts". And another time with 2-3 other movies trying to connect or being connected with download speeds of around 0-2KB/s per movie. The result for the magnetmix movie was/ is the same in every set up.

Just curious have you checked with your ISP and asked if they have started limiting bandwidth usage for p2p networks.

Well, having let my wife take care on this question two times already (Thai-to-Thai, so to say) and getting always the same reply...."Of course there is NO limit".....I took matters in my hand after reading your post. Well, after getting the same stereotype answer three times, I got a phone call on my cellphone from one of the "managers" telling me that they have been limitimg my bandwidth for the last 2 month. Unfortunately, today is Sunday and it's already past 8 pm, so there was only a poor employee who had to listen me coming through the phone by 500 db. As it is rather untypical for Thai people to be threatened with court oder and compensation request, my words might fall on fertile ground, so to speak. Tomorrow I shall get another call from a decision capable staff member to find common ground, which is for my taste: lifting the limitation or meeting in front of a court of law for breaking the agreed contract unilaterally. I'll keep you updated on that one (and thanks for staying on this one).

I forgot, in the last two days I got 2 LW crashes (internal error). Of the last one I've got the error message. Would you mind taking a look at it? For me it seems that it has something to do with JAVA 1.5.0_06 (but I am not sure), because I had _05 and _06 installed both at the same time. And since I've deleted the _05 version I had those 2 crashes

As near as I understand it you get those errors when you don't have enough direct memory/ram. From what I understand Java uses direct memory which is ram and virtual memory which is hard drive. Direct memory is faster than virtual memory and the limit on direct memory and virtual memory is set in the Java code. Which if you know how to write code you can change it. No I do not know how to write code.

Anyway if it is set to use to much direct memory then you will get this error. It is possible that Java is corrupt but I do not know. I have changed the format of your bug report to notepad it is essayer to read. The link below is to a thread in the beta section where you should post it with a description of what was happening with LimeWire at the time of the error,(If you know)

WhiteShadow is flying high

Hi from Czech Republic,
I would really appreciate some recommendations, because I am totally confused..My net conection should be quite fast:
download/upload - 3000kbps/300kbps
After some reading on this forum, I moved my upload bandwith to 32,5 kB/s, I chose T1 ( sonner I had T3), I have 2 uploads for person and 3 max, maximum downloads I have 20.
Download bandwith I have set up unlimited, because my 260kB/s is not on the scale.
And still I have ( already for too long) the lowest speed as is possible.., sooner I hadnt always been so bad as now, but on the other hand, it have never been as it should be. My average speed is now about 2kB/s and I am starting to cry. Please help me..

Default Hey White Shadow

I read this thread regularly and I've been using Lw for a while. Just my thoughts. You have your uploads set at 32.5. If the person you are downloading from has the same or smaller setting and 5 or 6 people are downloading from that person then you are all getting a piece of 32.5. Try downloading a file that shows 10 or more sources to see if your download speed increases. If it does, the problem is probably beyond your control. There are lots of variables beyond your computer.

Also, go to the site below to see if you are getting close to your advertised speeds. It will never be 100% but it should be 80% or so if your end is set up correctly.

I've cried over slow download speeds at T1 or better myself.

Well, now I tried to download some files with more sources than 10, but it seems that problem is something different..
Then I tried the speed test. Result is:
265kbps/58kbps
So I changed my my upload to 53 kbps, but I can't still see any improvements..
P.S. - thanks for your time
