Do a speed test here (scroll down the page for one in Oz)

I have read alot of the posts in this thread.I want to know if my settings are correct.I use Adelphia high speed.I have up to 4mb connection

Upload = 384kbs
Download =4000kbs

Upload setting is 40kps
Download is unlimited

Download and upload slots are all set to one

I have moved the upload slider up and down with mixed results.Currently I am downloading 1 file at 182kbs,but it will dip to 150kps.

Wait a minute!!I just checked in at 282kps.I know this depends on the users I connect with,but this was accomplished by lowering my upload speed to from 40kps to 33 kps.

OMG it went from 282 up to 342 on this current file.I think setting your download to 1 is the best.You can make adjustments from that point.

Final max speed on a 700mb file = 362kps + or - 10kbs in dips.

I just tried another file.I am downloading at 157kps.I am using the same settings.I guess it's the luck of the draw.........

384kbps = 48KB/s your max should be set around 40KB/s

4000kbps = 500KB/s so DL should be unlimited

You are set up properly and yes it is the luck of the draw. I would allow 4 to connect and upload at a time.

I spent some time,and thought on settings,and I saw the light.

Adjustment to

Download share
Upload share (Basic,and slots)
Files that I share(music,image ect..)
T3 setting-increased my host from 10 to 14

Download setting 2 files at a time.I average 150kps on each of these files,on any given file.Almost.This is based on the number of host that share that file.So,If 10 or more host have that file,I'm getting great Dl speeds.

You need to be careful running T3 settings and make sure you are not overloading your UL capability. If you use to much UL bandwidth it will hurt your DL capabilities.

I am going to do a speed test at various times to get more accurate readings.I put my download speed to a T1 connection so I can match my upload speed of 40KB/s.

I do not think I have my settings tweaked for max performance. I'm talking about ULing speeds & DLing speeds. What should my max # DL and max # Searches be? ULing slots and # of UL per slot? Things of that nature.

I did a speed test on speakeasy.net and I did the one for ATL, bcuz that's where I live, and my results were DL - 6369kbps (795.9KBps), UL - 424kbps (53KBps).

I was told by a friend that a T1 connection is 3.0MBps and clearly I have more than that, so should I use a T3 setting?

Any help will be greatly appreciated and welcomed!
