does anyone know of a reason my downloaded songs won't play anymore? they used to work fine, now when i hit launch nothing happens.

Though you didn't mention it, if you are using iTunes, and you move a file to a different location, you have to tell the iTunes player where you moved it to. For example, if you have a P2P DL file and try it out to see if it is what you wanted and iTunes is your default player, it will play. When you move it to your music folder and try to launch it from the player it will tell you it can't find it. Follow the prompts and redirect to the appropriate folder. Best Of Luck.
