Depending on the type of files you're dwnlding, go to your LW menu Tools-Options-Filters & Keywords & type in .exe This will help to reduce/eliminate those nasty critters! Get some AV, Spyware & adaware apps to rid your pc of these things!

Default viruses

99.999999999999999999999 (get the picture)% of these type of problems wouldn't happen if people just scanned incoming files with a good anti-virus program. You can find them at any good computer store and usually the best ones offer rebates that give you back half your money. I have very little sympathy for people that wind up with viruses because they are too cheap to pick up a $40.00 (read $20 or less after rebates) piece of software. If you are that hard up for cash you can usually find trial or full versions (hint-and-a-half) all over the net and especially on P2P's. As an added though probably unnecessary step I rescan my P2P folder before opening it to see all the goodies. BUT if you are a glutten for punishment just keep on reformatting your hard drive. Best Of Luck.
