Thanx peerless, but i still have the problem that some files are being stored in shared and some in my music. I cant figure out how to combine these files, or move them around. My saved destanition says owner shared why would file be stored in two different places? I`m a rookie at this so please be pacient with me. Oh yeah it is L/W.thanx

Peerless gave u te directions to the LW Dwnld folder. Now go to tools>options>sharing & that will tell u the names, locations & paths of all your shared folders. U can also add shared folders here by pressing the Add button. If your folders are shared, they will dislplay in your LW Library window on top left. Click on folders & files will display to the right (unless they have a small arrow next to them wich means they are a folder within a folder, just click this to oen the folder.) Form these directions, you will know if your dwnld folder as named under 'Saving' in Options is also listed as a shared folder. If you don't wish it to be then delete it from 'Sharing' in Options.

There's 2 reasons I can think of why u might be sharing 2 of the same file. 1. You've dwnlded a file & copied it to another shared folder whilst keeping a copy in a shared dwnld folder. 2. You're also shareing your incomplete folder & there's files of similar name to that of one you've already dwnlded. (Sometimes LW loses its relationship with a dwnld file - generally turns red when this happens - & another copy has dwnlded.) I've had the experience of having several files of same name of a file I was dwnlding left over in the incomplete folder. If you've already dwnlded the file, & the others are 'red' u may as well delete them using LW in the Library window. But make sure u delete the right ones ok. Deleting anything thru the Lib window is hazardous if u make a mistake!

I hope I've crossed your answer somewhere there.

Default I am now where you are at...

I have switched over to LimeWire also, and I am not able to find the files where it states they are saved...desk/comp/c/program/LW/4.0.8

I have been able to transfer quite a bit into my W.Media Player, but it does not seem to be a smooth transaction.More a trial and error with a lot of guessing and it works ever now and again.
Have you got it down and can you offer any suggestions?
Thank you

Now go to LW's menu Tools>Options>Saving. This will tell you the name, location & path of the LW dwnld folder. Perhaps u could create a short-cut for it & put it somewhere easy to find such as in Explorer. Or now armed with the folder's name use Explorer to locate it if you're having finding it on your hard disk D. Likewise with this info, you can direct WMP to import the tunes to its library.
