I don't quite understand the question! lol Can you detail exactly what it is you're trying to do? What is the objective? You will need to go outside of your LW in order to delete any folders. LW doesn't have the ability to delete folders. Where are these folders?

If I hadn't tried that already before posting here I should be slapped with a wet fish, the folder names will not allow changing.

LotR you helpful wee thang you thanks again. Ok when (i am assuming the other guy has this same prob) you open another file (subfolder etc) on the LW prog, then realise it's not needed "we" cannot then delete (or change it's name) and it sits there uneeded for weeks, thus in my case irritating the hell outta me?

In the Lirbray Pane, selecting the unnecessary folder and clicking "Stop sharing" will be enough.
That doesn't mean that the folder will cease to exist. Only that LW will not share any of it's contents (and thus, is won't be visible anymore in the Library Pane). You still have to go to it and delete it in your HD.

Hey Sarah Bellum, is that your true name? (please, forgive me if you consider this question inadequate or offending or something)

I suspect these folders are within LW's 'shared' folders. So they are a part of LW's control. Shutdown LW, go to those folders (use search for the top level folder if you're not sure where to locate them) & then trash/delete/rename them.

Are the folders still visible in the Library pane?
