Default Downloading Multiple Files HELP

When I download multiple files, the download speed between the two or more files decreases dramatically for every other file. So I am stuck downloading one file at a time because of my slow connection. Is there a way to increase the download speed?

Let's not want everything, shall we?
You can't expect to be able to download even as few as 2 files at "top speed". The best you can get is, provided that for both files you connect to people who can actually give you enough bandwidth, half your max speed for eachof the two files (a little less actually).

To dld a file, you must connect to a host. To dld it faster, LW connects to more hosts who will each provide a little of their bandwidth, so that you can reach a good speed with their combined upload bandwidths.
Sooooo, mutliple files mean connecting to even more hosts. That takes bandwidth all by itself.
If you really want to dld multiple files, just put them up for dld and go to work. When you get back, with a little luck, the dlds will have finished.
Otherwise, getting one file at a time at better speeds is, in the long run, faster, so just dld one or two files at a time.
The only way to get more bandwidth is to buy it from your ISP.

Are you using a 56k modem or what? Do you mean both downloads trogether are slower than one download?
