Shared directories aren't recursive? I'm using the plain java version of LW 1.4 on Solaris. When I try to share a directory, the subdirectories are not searched. My music collection is categorized into artist and album by directory and it would be very tedious to list all these by hand. Is this a feature or did I miss something? thanks --jth |
I seem to have discovered the problem. My shared files are stored on a separate disk partition. It seems that LW was choking on the system-created "lost+found" directory in my shared directory because it did not have search permissions. I added search permissions to "lost+found" and everything is parsed ok. It's a bit strange - when I create other directories without search permission LW behaves fine, it is only the combination of "lost+found" and 700 directory permissions that cause a problem. --jth |
LW didn't throw any exceptions. It didn't list anything at all in the Library window except for my "music" folder and as a subdirectory of that, the empty "lost+found" folder. My setup is pretty basic, with the exception of the "lost+found" directory. Shared folder - /export/music /export/music/band/album /export/music/band2/album /export/music/lost+found ... Thanks --jth |
