problem is, it wont accept my email address as a valid LimeWire Pro owner. Now what? ~bill |
Are you using the e-mail address that you originally got pro with? You may have changed e-mail accounts since getting pro, or if you have more than one e-mail account try them all |
Have I been scammed? Hi, I've just found this forum after days of trying to register at "limewire-software.com." I typed in Limewire at Ixquick and it gave me several choices. The one I went to was the official site - I thought. It even had the green lime etc. on it. I only meant to download the free one, but was cchatting to a friend at the same time. Next thing I knew it was asking for E27.76 - 2 payments ie. E17.88 and E9.88. I thought I had put in my e-mai address incorrectly, as I never received the e-mail confirming my membership and I've no way of contacting them as they look for the e-mail address if I go to try and contact them. I wonder have I been scammed. I even have the password they gave me, but I can't get into the site to use it! It looked very like the site you keep advertising in this forum....... Signed: I'm an idiot! |
Great Scam Site 1 Attachment(s) Fed-Up This is definately a scam site and check out the real name of the site, RealMusicNow.com. When you saw the name change/redirection you should have abandoned the transaction. You've read the forum and now you know what to do. UK Bob |
check it out just been playing around, typed in limewire and followed the instructions on each individual sites, there is probably thousands just a few- called alllimewire.com limewire-muzic, download mp3 no wonder so many people are being scammed, maybe the limewire logo could incorporate the slogan "if you gotta pay it aint the real limewire" |
Gotta love these scam sites, of course after the 30 days was up they decided to answer my numerous email requests with a sorry your times up. So I sent them my zillion emails telling them no it wasn't and stop playing games. Next email was your refund is being processed LOL.:D |
I have just realised that I too have been scammed. I paid using an option for two year membership at 60p a month for free unlimited access from the saem site on the first page of this topic. I am in the Uk and I am deaf and not used to using Pcs. I am going to go straight to my bank in the morning to cancel the subscription. Any other advice for me folks? I really like the Limewire, its brilliant and would be happy to get the Pro, but first am gonna sort out things with my bank in the morning. What should I say to them? I feel such a fooool! I am frightened to think how much money has been taken out of my account even though I only signed up 3 days ago...Can I get it back? |
60p per month Is that direct debit or standing order at 60p per month or the equivalent, if its either of the first 2 then just cancel, if you paid a total price you will have to go back to the source and demand your refund. the bank wont be able to do anything or at least I dont think they can. |
