Default Newbie...Simple Question

Just out of curiousity...does Limewire open a 'user account' in your computer? I recently found another user on my computer and don't know where it came from. I just figured it was from here. It is password protected too.

Certainly not to my knowledge or experience. Perhaps somebody else was using your computer & logged in under a separate identity & setup their own permissable workspace.

Thanks for the input. My computer is used by nobody else but me, even my husband doesn't know how to use it and it is in my home. I am on it at least 12 hours a day. I am checking with Windows. Thanks again

Without knowing what OS you're using I can only guess that it has done that due to the security architecture that's operating in your comp at present (ie: regards to permissions, etc.)

Default Spyware

Dear Xylia

It sound like someone or thing has planted spyware or virus in your PC, this can be done by a hacker, malware hidden in something you downloaded, a secret installation (initiated by a web page you visited) or a bot/worm (an automatic program that roams the internet looking for vulnerable PCs to infect).

The best thing you can do now is use anti-spyware software, like Adaware SE and/or Spybot, to clean your PC followed by running your anti-virus software.

Once your machine is clean and to stop yourself being infected in future you should use a firewall, like ZoneAlarm (free) or Norton Personal Firewall.

UK Bob
