Default .dat files

i wanted an easy download system that didnt have spyware or what-not so I was told to get Limewire... Mistake!
I read the whole damn site and then decided to go ahead and download it. everything was fine until it came up with a problem involving a .msi file or something. now when i try to delete the existing Limewire things of my local drive I find a .dat file... and it wont let me delete it! this has p***ed me off because it says that another person or program may be tring to use it. I cannot find the program or person.
HELP!

Limewire didnīt install this .dat file. And it would really help if you would tell us the name of the .dat file. Do you have a virus scanner and a firewall?

To get rid of your spyware use ad-aware:

Tell me the name of the .dat file and I can search if google knows anything about it.

btw the .dat file must not be dangerous. Sometimes its impossible to delete files because on other program is using them. This is normal.
