Spam is killing Limewire Im getting pretty tired of the spammers who copy the words you search for, and returns an ad/spam for their crap. Lately has it become even worse, where they push multiple files matching search string. ....Argh.... |
1 Attachment(s) The most common of these respond with these formats of files: .exe, .wmv, & .jpg Now go to your LW filters: LW's menu Tools>Options>Filters>Keywords & add the above words one by one to the list & then press the apply button. Now you won't have to worry about them again. For macosx that's LW's Prefs>Filters>Keywords & for OSClassic that's Options>Filters>Keywords |
How smart! Now what if I use to search for movies and pictures? |
Do you see the Remove button, it's there so if you wish to temporarily remove a filter you're fine. But I don't know why anybody would want to dwnld a WMV files anyway. Most of them are trash. For decent movie files you should be looking at mpeg or avi. But suit yourself. Here's some info on the spam: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...3195#post93195 |
