Problem with limewire ever since i was asked to download java
 

Ever since limewire told me to download the new version of java bout a month ago, limewire has been running a bit slow, I dont mean downloads, i mean like when im scrolling down my playlist, it freezes up for like a second or two. I tried alot of things. I unistalled java then downloaded it again, i unistalled limewire an installed it again, but it didnt help. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help. Thanks

How much ram do you have?

There's 2 versions of Java we'd recommend. Sometimes one does better than the other depending on the person's setup.

1. Java 1.4.2 (click on link)

2. Java 1.5 (take the JRE)

urghhhhh...i didnt work. When i closed limewire and opened it again it went back to the slow way?? Whats going on?

i dont understand whats going on, it worked for a little but then i wanted to see if i closed the program an went back into it if it would still be fine, but it went back to its old slow way. I dont know what to do. HELPPP!! :p

LW is always a bit slow when you 1st open it, particularly if you have a lot of incomplete files or/AND a lot of shared files. Let LW settle down before doing anything. Let it sit for anywhere b/w 10 to 25 mins. Seriously, depending on how many files LW needs to load & it can take quite some time & it also takes a while to settle so it's happily stable so to speak. So don't open it up & rush in & do searches or use the media player.
