Default Limewire set up video

Dear LW People

It seems that most of the questions you get, which are repeated ad infinitum, by new users could be answered by a short set up (animated) quicktime or windows video.

I know that the questions they asked could be answered if they bothered to read the manual but it seems that very few people try to read or learn about Limewire before they try to use it.

So maybe a short two or three minute video would catch their attention and, hopefully, head off the obvious type questions LW folks have to continually answer.

Excellent suggestion! Unfortunately this site softw (vBulletin Version) doesn't support it. Gifs is the closest to an animation. And with a size limitation it also makes it difficult to use that medium. Also the limitation of just one attachment per post.

In the new year (or when I get around to it), I am going to create a Sticky thread to show the skills of using LW. But this doesn't quite cater for the topic of movies.

Yeah, Quicktime or flash files would certainly be very advantageous. Again, the limitations of vBulletin. Apparently sometime in the not too distant future this vBulletin Version will be updated but I doubt it will make much difference to this issue.

Default Set Up Video

Hi LOTR

Glad you liked my idea, I think that people today, myself included, get impatient when faced with a new item/application that they want to try out asap.

Anyway, rather than try to run the set up video online, so putting an unnecessary strain on the LW server, it could be downloaded instead. Dial Up users may find this a problem but I think it would be fair for all concerned for a downloadable, instructional video to be available rather than trying to run one online.

Xcellent idea again! A1 Totally agree. I'll bring this concept up with the other mods.
