moving limewire to another computer Hello ALL im new with limewire. lol . i paid 20$ for that limewire program thingy and i bought a new computer 3 weeks after. how can i download the paid version of limewire on that computer? or can i?!?! thx for helping every1 |
I can somewhat help...but I also have the same question Hello I need the same info. I bought my LW for $18.88 back on 9/30/2004. I just got a new computer last week and I need to move the LW PRO program over to the new computer without having to pay again for it. Is it possible? To get the music over to the new computer was easy. Just go to the C: drive where your music is stored and dowload the music into a cd. An MP3 cd would be a lot better. |
salserita4eva I hope you kept your LW Pro installer b/c you are probably too late to get another update. Jspirit18 you can just downld the installer again & save it to your computer. If you didn't bookmark your personal downld page then do it next time. Get it here (use your email you registered with): HERE (click on link) To move your incomplete files over, move the complete incomplete folder to the new computer. What's important is that you maintain the download.dat & bak files b/c these keep your downld history. Without them your incomplete files are useless. |
Why would I want to keep my incomplete files? I burned all the music I wanted from Limewire into a couple of cds and now they are in the new computer. I also went into the c:Program Files/Limewire and copied all the info from that folder into a cd. Will that work? I figured I could just put that cd in the new computer and use something from there to install the version I paid for... can I do that? and if so, which icon would I have to look for? Help... |
Do a search for LimeWireWin ( it's a .exe) on your old computer, that's the installer. |
Thank you I'll try that...i hope it works... I dont have it in the computer anymore. It will coming out of a CD now. But it should be in the CD so....I just look for it and if I open it it should install right? Im sorry, I just want to get it right.... Thanks again |
