Burning video onto cd I have a couple of programs that will convert my DL video files so that they can be burned onto a cd instead of a DVD. (yes, I am aware of the quality issues). I did this with one movie..and it plays great on my computer...but not on my home or portable dvd players. Read up on that, needed a different format. So, I downloaded a different format, converted it, etc. using VCD Easy, Copy Pro and Nero. When it came time to burn this one, it was 762 MB and of course, won't fit. My question is, should I burn it onto 2 cds or just look for a smaller file? I did search for this answer in your forums, for well over an hour actually...to no avail. If this is repetitive and the answer is posted somewhere, please kindly direct me. Thank you! Last edited by Kimberly R; January 19th, 2005 at 07:32 PM. |

I am there now...and can't find anything that says "overburning". If you have a moment and don't mind looking, I would certainly appreciate it. I've been promising my children this movie for a couple of weeks! They are starting to loose faith in me! ha ha Last edited by Kimberly R; January 19th, 2005 at 08:00 PM. |

I found it...just after asking you to look. I hope this works. Under preferences, expert features, I checked "enable cd at once overburning" and I also checked "Enable generation of short leadout" Does this seem right? Thanks again for all of your help!! One more problem, if you don't mind. I adjusted the settings (and yes, I did hit "apply") ha ha. I tried to burn again and it is giving me the same error message: There is not enough space to burn this compilation onto this disk. Please insert another disk that provides more space. Data to be written 762MB Space available 715MB Any suggestions for this?????? Thanks! |

I spent the weekend reading all the manuals for the 2 dvd/recorders and the pc....wrote down all the compatible discs to use etc... Okay I started over... when I said before I burned 4 dvd'd w/movies...they didnt play on the tv... here I found out that I burned them using windows Media player Instead of sonic record now....so what i did was start over w/record now like i did way back when... Here what i found out happened is that all the files i moved from the LW library to my documents....only could be picked up and burned by windows media player... I tried everytrhing...trial and error...clicked on all the find,,,view,,,help,,,options...etc...nothing helped... In short....If I can somehow get the files from the LW library to the sonic record now documents...or shared files...I can record from here....this has been the WHOLE problem... Can anyone help? Also I tried to burn again on the dvd+rw disc that had the windows media player burnt movies on them and it said "file corrupt...can't use... so I threw them out... |
