Burning video onto cd

I have a couple of programs that will convert my DL video files so that they can be burned onto a cd instead of a DVD. (yes, I am aware of the quality issues). I did this with one movie..and it plays great on my computer...but not on my home or portable dvd players. Read up on that, needed a different format. So, I downloaded a different format, converted it, etc. using VCD Easy, Copy Pro and Nero. When it came time to burn this one, it was 762 MB and of course, won't fit. My question is, should I burn it onto 2 cds or just look for a smaller file?

I did search for this answer in your forums, for well over an hour actually...to no avail. If this is repetitive and the answer is posted somewhere, please kindly direct me.

Thank you!

Thank you, once again for your speedy reply. I'm sure you don't recall, but I have been "fiddling" for a couple of weeks..maybe more!! ha ha. Thank you again for all of your help!!

I am there now...and can't find anything that says "overburning". If you have a moment and don't mind looking, I would certainly appreciate it. I've been promising my children this movie for a couple of weeks! They are starting to loose faith in me! ha ha

I found it...just after asking you to look. I hope this works. Under preferences, expert features, I checked "enable cd at once overburning" and I also checked "Enable generation of short leadout" Does this seem right? Thanks again for all of your help!!

I saw that! I thought that I would have a cute little beachy girl there...instead, I have junk!!!

One more problem, if you don't mind. I adjusted the settings (and yes, I did hit "apply") ha ha. I tried to burn again and it is giving me the same error message:

There is not enough space to burn this compilation onto this disk. Please insert another disk that provides more space.

Data to be written 762MB
Space available 715MB

Any suggestions for this?????? Thanks!

burning dvd's...movies

burning dvd's...movies
This is where I am at...

I spent the weekend reading all the manuals for the 2 dvd/recorders and the pc....wrote down all the compatible discs to use etc...

Okay I started over...
when I said before I burned 4 dvd'd w/movies...they didnt play on the tv...
here I found out that I burned them using windows Media player

Instead of sonic record now....so what i did was start over w/record now like i did way back when...

Here what i found out happened is that all the files i moved from the LW library to my documents....only could be picked up and burned by windows media player...

I tried everytrhing...trial and error...clicked on all the find,,,view,,,help,,,options...etc...nothing helped...

In short....If I can somehow get the files from the LW library to the sonic record now documents...or shared files...I can record from here....this has been the WHOLE problem...

Can anyone help?

Also I tried to burn again on the dvd+rw disc that had the windows media player burnt movies on them and it said "file corrupt...can't use...

so I threw them out...

Persistance Eventually Pays Off!!

Here we go!!!!!!!!

LOTR..I FINALLY got the movies burned on the dvd+rw's.....TY

But...........they look and sound great on the pc...

They still don't play on the TV/dvd player setup.....same message on the tv disc error cant read format....

My pc is recording on sonic Record Now and playing the dvd's back on Intervideo Win DVD 4...

I went thru every tutorial on the sonic help page...nothing...

my dvd player WILL play drd+rw's.....plus I reburned over them ...

no problemo there...

so we are almost home free....

is it possible to convert somehow to get this to play on the tv setup?

what if I was to reburn the dvd+rw onto a dvd+r or dvd-r? the dvd/player accepts both to play

would that work?

I need some thoughts here men...women...

we are getting close......
