Can somebody help me out...i had this problem for about 2 months now. Everytime im on limewire, i dun no how to put it but the program reacts slow like for example when click on a song it freezes for a slight second...its just not normal, an i have tried different things like updating java. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank You

What does disk defragment exactly do? Will it effect any of my files in a bad way? I dont feel too comfortable doing it because i feel like my files are going to be moved or removed

Defrag is like your momma cleaning your bedroom. You know where everything belongs and should go but you just throw it whereever. Momma comes along and puts it away right. Nothing is moved. Your dresser, bed and toybox are int the same place they are just cleaned up. Compacting means you have a lot of socks and undies so momma just pushes them down so the drawer will shut. Moving files means the shoes under the bed go in the closet and dirty underwear goes in the wash. If momma finds something that ain't right or broken that is referred to Dad/Scandisk.

I must admit, that is the first time I have ever seen defragmentation (or defragging your hard disk) explained like that. deacon72 certainly has a way with words and imagery.

Mind you, I have never come across anyone who was afraid to defrag their hard disk either.

I guess that either Salcas has had a bad experience during a defragging session or does not understand that this is one of the PC housekeeping tasks every windows user should perform regularly, say at least once a month.
