These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 2. Spamming and excessive advertising will not be tolerated. Commercial advertising is not allowed in any form, including using in signatures. 3. There will be no excessive use of profanity in any forum. 4. There will be no racial, ethnic, or gender based insults, or any other personal attacks. 5. Pictures may be attached to posts and signatures if they are not sexually explicit or offensive. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement. 6. Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other threads and see where your post will go. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit or used for commercial advertising. Commercial weblinks cannot be used under any circumstances and will result in an immediate ban. 13. Dual accounts are not allowed. Cannot explain this more simply. Attempts to set up dual accounts will most likely result in a banning of all forum accounts. 14. Video links may only be posted after you have a tally of two forum posts. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. 15. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. We hope your visit is helpful and mutually beneficial to the entire community. |

Amazing response when someone puts forth valid issues and with the exception of your attemp to one up my sarcasm, still answered little. Pardon my ignorance for assuming the 'help' menu in LW Pro would contain direct link to the LW Pro email support, what was I thinking. Gentlemen, the first rule of business is to never lose sight of the fact that though your CUSTOMER may have been misdirected to help and instead of a sarcastic response (as this is so negative from a product support/customer relations aspect) a more professional approach has been a proven model. As far as my questioning anything about your software, had I continued using your free version, I would never had contacted you as I assume the responsibility. I paid for my current version and whether it was 2 or 200 dollars, the fact that I paid gives me the right to question, unfortnately your response clearly outlines your childish approach to customer service despite my attitude. If you gurus can't handle constructive critisism, don't take my money and then insult me. Boy, did you guys give to me huh!! Paul Rosebush |

Mr. LOTR: You've had to search for your answers for so long, you think it is normal. When you buy a new car, does the dealer send you to other owners when you have a problem or do they give you a precise Owner's Manual with all of the personal attention you need to make sure that you....as a customer COME BACK FOR YOUR NEXT CAR! |

Hmmm don't know eyes must be playing tricks on me. Last I looked on the "official" LimeWire site there was a users manual that could be downloaded. I think I downloaded it. let me go look again. oops users guide under support it's still there. Last edited by fabion; January 31st, 2005 at 11:31 PM. |

God I hate back peddling, Gentlemen/Ladies, I do owe an apology. The 'help' I could not find was NOT LimeWire's. As this is quite embarassing, I will not include the details of my screw up. My tone was unwarranted and I regret any offence taken by others. It has been one very long day and though this does not excuse my conduct I do hope my conduct can be forgiven. Again, quite sincerely, Paul Rosebush |

Forgiven. It takes a bigger person to admit when they have made a mistake, then to run off and hide or blame someone else. I think LimeWire is a great way to share some of my research and ideas, and I have gotten more out of it than I have put in. Have a great night and better tomorrow. All is well |

....and, tough shi t if you do not like it, but---- a little history lesson from me, a junior member of the Gnutella Network Community... First comment - EXPERIENCED members of the p2p community KNOW that judgements are NOT made in hours, days or weeks...! It takes a great deal of time, patience and DISCIPLINE to understand the various processes and REALITIES of ANY 'general' - NON-CENTRAL-SERVER p2p system !!! Years, not days or weeks, OK ? TOUGH for you if not OK. (Do not misunderstand me, please... I am known for being rather 'understanding' of those who are either 'new/ignorant' and trying to help with their problems... SO IS SBERLIN !!!!! And several 100's of others here and on other p2p-based forums !) I will be very straight with you... (and, tangentially, with a few others)- I do not run LimeWire for specific reasons related to Java apps... NO BIG DEAL and certainly no reason for others to not use LimeWire... I, along with Peerless and numerous others, either use only one other Gnutella Network client, or use other p2p 'systems'. This does NOT suggest a denigration of LimeWire or any other Gnutella Network client. You (and the vast multitudes of others) seem to be stricken with a common 'ailment'... "MY machine is perfect!" and ALL problems MUST be related to a 'p2p' client ! This is a manifestation of the rectal output of the masculine of the bovine ilk ! 99% sure, you... YOU have something(s) WRONG in YOUR configurations OR installations. ----- OR YOU are trying to do far too much with a limited system.... PCs are NOT LIKE WHAT DAT WHAT IS SHOWN IN THE MOVIES.... !!! Your initial post includes ZERO info as to your setup or experiential reality... What ya want ? If you care to become a beneficial member of the Gnutella Network and the p2p community in general, than you MUST play your part and give real info re: your current problems and computer set-ups--- Geddit ? Please reply --- The thing is --- Every 'good' member of the Gnutella Network is better for all of us !!! And, better for YOU p.s. And me. cuz. Gnutella Network is US p.p.s. I have spent years, with my lawyers and others, in pursuit of trying to get SBERLIN to legally adopt me... (Cuz I thought he was so rich, right ?........ Well, he, and the other loonies 'behind' LimeWire are not about to start renting the boathouse of Bill -Cho Cho - Gates...) ((¡ Chocho is a delightful word in Spanish ! )) I cannot express how disappointed I am, as I had hoped to be disgustingly rich and now I can only depend on the life-time support of Lord of the Rings. Of course, I am not loathe to publick contributions, but I must share all tithes with KathW... Well, at least 10%, huh ?
