LimeWire Pro 4.4.0.1 not released yet. I have read numerous complaints about LimeWire pro 4.4.0.1 and responses to said complaints. As far as I'm aware the LimeWire staff have not realeased this version yet. Any one thinking they have purchased the LimeWire pro 4.4.0.1 version have been scammed. The only version of LimeWire 4.4 that has been released is the "free" windows installer version. I am sure the LimeWire Developers will let us know when the new pro version is available. All I can say is beware and only download LimeWire from the "official LimeWire website" . You should read this link: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=28751 An Administrator or moderator may feel free to remove/edit this thread when the "official" version of of LimeWire Pro 4.4 is available, as I plan on purchasing it to assist in offsetting there expenses. p2p is for everyone!!!!! The current download, PRO or Free, is LimeWire 4.4.0. (I'm not sure where this extra 1 got tacked on.) The websites say 4.2 because we haven't updated them yet. I'm not positive if FileFront has updated their downloads to use 4.4 for OSX & Linux or if they're still giving 4.2. When we update the website, everything will be in order. For now, consider it a sneak preview. |

Filefront is giving 4.2.6 to osx users (this will change on monday, héhéhé)

As we've been promising for quite awhile, there is now a single Windows installer. Depending on the language you choose in installation, it will install the necessary version of Java (with or without support for international characters). The new installer installs Java 1.5 if it detects they have Java 1.4.0 or below. There is no such thing as, nor a need for the international installer now. I'm not sure what you mean by a "standalone windows installer". The installer for windows is all you'll ever need. |

The only thing installed over the net is Java, and that's if you don't already have it. Given that LimeWire requires the internet to work at all, I think it's a fairly safe bet that people downloading LimeWire will have an internet connection to install Java. Regardless, if it can't connect to the internet to download Java (if it needs it), installation will proceed just fine, and when you go to start LimeWire it'll remind you that you need to install Java. |
