Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. Can't get music to Transfer from Limewire to ITunes Library Hi everyone, I'm new here and I am so ignorant to computors, and to this downloading music stuff, so please someone kindly help me. My downloaded music had always automatically transferred from Limewire on to my ITunes library, but all of a sudden, it won't transfer. Can anyone tell me what might be the problem? Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Karen Conerly |

If your music automatically transfered to your iTunes then it must have been Mac OSX right!? That's the only operating system this is possible where the music actually gets copied to iTunes own library. Go to LW's Prefs>iTunes>Importing & tick enable to importing to iTunes & press the Apply button. Simple as that. Now you're set! If you're talking about windows then you shouldn't need to do anything. Unless you enable daap. But that's intended for lan. See: How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes) |

To Lord of The Rings Thank you so much for your quick response. However I cannot click on to the iTunes listed the way you described. It has a grey arrow pointing to iTunes, and it won't allow me to click on it:-( I do believe that I am sunk! Yes, I do have an eMack OSX. However this is my very first computor, and I've only had it for three months. I don't believe that I will be able to learn this stuff. Anyway, thank you so much for your kind response. If I want to get back to this board, how do I do this? I received a message that they will not notify me again of any more messages unless I visit the board again, so how do I do this? LOL! I know, I am hopeless..LOL! Karen Conerly |

Ms Kitty, you eventually need to experiment with the Main audio functions of your Mac. Insert a CD, and check-out the control panels. The main thing you will notice online is that most people are using 128-bit files, meaning they are doing Medium resolution imports. Some songs sound much better in 160-bit, or High resolution. This is especially important on symphonic and horns and string sounds. Have fun, and welcome to our (ideally quite helpful) internet community! |

I have 10.3.9 too. Things went south about 1 month ago, precisely when they were offering the upgrade to iTunes 8.x and I don't know why, but it started when the "do you want to up-grade to 8.?" panel went away. I am never logged in to Mac except when I am asking for Album Artwork. Plus, I frequnetly use the i-button than says, "Would you like to CONSOLIDATE your files?" (Not sure what it does but re-write the library, like rebuilding a desktop file.) Now, for the work around. You can evidently still do 8 to 10 songs at a time from one list and drop them onto another. Big bulky sets like 30 or 300 songs won't work. e'mail me and I'll 'splain more tricks. |

Consolidate moves files to the library that were linked in some way as far as I know. I know if you add a directory to iTunes but the files are not actually within the iTunes music folder, then consolidate will move them across. Such as if at some point in time you did not Copy files to Library when adding songs (option to turn this on & off is under Advanced in preferences). Consolidate then moves all files not in the main music library across to it. I am aware on my old mac running OSX 10.3 & 10.4 I think iTunes was limited as to how many songs you could add at one time. However on my new intel mac under OSX 10.5 I seem to be able to re-add the entire music library back into itself. Not sure if this always applies with adding large numbers of files but did add a large number of files from an external at some point I think. |

I'm trying to perform the impossible. Downloading to this old workhorse, and backing-up to a big firewire external drive on my mom's iMac. mainly, the incompatibility between this X10.3, and her 10.5--which can support 3-rd party sync applications, leaves me in a quandry. The bottom-line is that iTunes builds it's propriatary library with structured folders-within- folders. Otherwise, ANY archiving program would make these hard drives match. It's important to know that the actual file is in the shared folder. I have to re-label nearly all of mine anyway, (more volume than the DOW,) so moving them in 30-song groupings isn't too much hassle. Grannygear's saying her's used to work, but now doesn't. This event what prompted me to communicate with all of you. BTW: Lord of the Rings you deserve a toast for your performance as a moderator. I couldn't ask for better tech support even if I had paid a bundle for it! |
