Lime wire download speed Can anyone tell me what the max download speed is with LW. My speeds vary drastically even when connect to several sources. Is there know way to trottle this app. |
It depends on the hosts upload speed. You cannot d/l any faster than the host(s) can u/l. I'm not sure what the max. d/l speed is, but I got up 140KB/s last night on one d/l. You can go to in LimeWire 1) tools 2) options 3) Downloads - increase the max. number of downloads to say 50. You can give that a try, and see if it helps. It may allow you to connect more hosts when d/ling. |
Lime wire download speed Thanks Fabion for that. After increasing my hosts the D/L speed stayed at a higher constant rate but, as always, if I am D/L say 2 different files it will take the bandwidth from the first D/L and split it with the second. Why ? This does'nt make sense to me as I have a 512 adsl connection and the sources are from different people so I should in thoery be getting a much higher speed. Am I seeing this from the wrong perspective ? |
I'm not sure I can adequately and knowledgeably answer your question, but this link explains ASDL connections. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...ownload+speeds Hope it helps. |
