files in red when i check my incomplete folder, some files show up in white and some show up in red? what does it mean when they show up in red? |
It can mean a couple of things. You can have a look at Library items in Red or look at others here To put simply, the files have lost their relationship with their downld list brothers. This might be due to them being deleted off the downld list or just for some reason lost their relationship with the original source. It is possible to continue some of these. Select them & use the Resume function. Then go back to the search window & do a search for the topic. |
Re: files in red thank you. i thought that's what it may have been. that or they were corrupt files. i will look at the links you posted when i have time. |
You asked specifically about the incomplete folder. Items in red in other folders/windows can mean other things. In your Library window the other folders that have items in red means they aren't being shared (other people can't downld them - usually a refresh will fix that.) Or of course when you 1st start LW all your shared files start off red b/c LW hasn't yet accounted for them all ... but they eventually turn black. In your search results, any item in red will mean it's behind a firewall. The older versions of LW would have had only a small chance of successfully downlding from those sources. But the newer versions of LW are much easier to downld from firewalled sources. Not to say you might not come across some difficulties. I've successfully downlded from many a firewalled source. |
