Having read thru past posts about scams, I learned that I too was scammed by having subscribed to Mymusicinc.com. I did download Limewire as part of that process, but was continually bombarded by popup ads & trojan.download threats. I'm wondering, how to completely remove all of the problems at this point. I've run Ad aware, Norton, SB S&D, & NoAdware and still have some items popping up. Is there anything embedded in Limewire now? such that I need to remove & reload limewire?

The true LW itself has no spyware or adware! So They must have really loaded it up with a lot of crap for you to still have problems. Either that or you picked it up at their site.

Get rid of it; uninstall it & install the true LW here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

Uninstall the version you d/led from them. Then run your spybot, ad-aware, anti-virus,and find a registery cleaner. Also do a disk cleanup and disk defragmentation.

Really sounds like your registry was hammered with spyware and adware. And there is a registry entry somewhere that keeps generating new entries, when others are deleted. That is the one you really need to find and delete.

You can "google" for registry cleaners. There are several good ones that are free or offer trial versions.

Once you have done all this use the Link LotR provided to d/l a clean version and istall.

Appreciate the quick, helpful responses. When something like this happens, it feels like you're in a vacuum until you realize there are many who have gone thru similar situations and many willing to help!
