Well, are there REALLY any people still using ancient LW versions like 3.5.8 (!) or should these version reports be taken with a grain of salt?

Yes that's so. Some people still use LW 2 in fact! I swapped from LW 2 to LW 4 about 9 months ago. Some people love their versions. Also not forgetting the reqirements of the newer versions is a little greater & some people are still using versy old computers. And that's not only in the asian & eastern european countries, but also in western countries. Some people keep an old computer handy just for using LW with. And some people have rebuilt computers for similar reason.

The problem with the older versions is they are not healthy for the G network. Amongst the Gnutella community there's been developments & agreements not to use certain things within their Gnet programs. But some of these older versions still have them in. Which is in some ways is detrimental to Gnet & traffic.
