Default for murasame or lord of the rings struggling with 2meg connection!

Hi read murasame's posts, nobody replied to my last post so thought i'd try a new thread. Configured my uploads to around max, read about the KB, kb bit. So divided my 288 upstream by 8-5 which is still off the slider. so set to maximum. Downloads is off slider as well so set that to maximum. Maximum simultaneous DL's 15, upload slots per person 2, max uploads 3. My connection seems to be very unstable for some reason, it jumps up to like 150kb/s then drops to 0. Downloading off servers like cnet or something have no probs i get like 155kb/ps. Have i configured this right? please help!

using p3-700 256 ram xp, 4.2.6 288/2272 upstream/downstream downloading off 4star, t3 as well. I am behind mcaffee firewall and a router with built in firewall but opened up ports for limewire so shouldn't be a problem.

So you don't have problems with people uploading from you then? So after LW was open over 30 mins you did this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image and the result is True?

Sometimes when I have an inconsistent downld or just drops to zero or needs more sources, I'll select it in the downld window & press Stop. Then re-select it from the Search results & press Downld again. I'll back that up with occasional new searches.

Is your problem happening all the time or just occasionally?
Is your modem/router USB or ethernet?

If you're running as an ultrapeer it's not so important that people are uploading from you. So long as there's no impedance there. I'm not much of a knowledge on Ultrapeers & Murasame is much better at finessing the settings for optimal performance. Murasame hasn't been around much lately. I can try to refer you to another member for some advice. I just hope they're online soon ... oh hold on it's 7 am there so perhaps a little later.

The reason I was asking about usb connection is that usb can cause issues with reliable performance.

I see you're using pro. Have you thought about updating. LW 4.6 was released just days ago. I do know LW 4.2 had some bugs.

Another person who might be able to help is Leeware. His post is here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=1 (it's a large thread!)
