![]() I thought of how you might remain anonymous. Don't share. Would it work? If you aren't sharing, no one can view how many files you have, and can't get you. Am I right? If I am, I'm not sharing anymore. ![]() |

![]() I would think that if you limit the number of files you share, you would tend to fly “below the radar” a bit. The folks looking to bust people aren’t usually looking for the “little fish.” They are looking for the big-time traders. It has to be worth their effort. It’s a numbers game. I think, realistically, that the more files shared, the greater the risk of attracting attention. It’s a double edged sword, tho. Limiting the number of files you share will also limit your potential download sources. But your best insurance policy? Don’t do illegal downloads. Just MHO. |

![]() There’s a “Shared Folder” that’s designated when you install Limewire. As long as you keep the files you want others to have access to in there, you’re sharing (providing Limewire is up and running). Preferences can be set to include other files as well. Don’t give full access tho…you don’t want sensitive stuff leaking out there. Perhaps LOR or peerless can walk you thru the process. |

![]() nattienat: Open your Monitor window. At the bottom of the window it will show if anybody is uploading from you. Also in your Library window, to the far right of each folder it will show if anybody had downloaded from you. As far as the above discussion goes & possible paranoia. Why not use Peerguardian: http://peerguardian.methlabs.org/pg2.html (FREE) which will block out organisations attempting to see if you are uploading & downlding, etc. Your isp will then be the only ones who know for sure if they make any effort to watch for that type of thing. And depending on the policies of your isp & the laws of your country then you should remain reasonably safe. |
