![]() I just started using LimeWire yesterday, and haven't turned it off, because I'm trying to give someone the chance to get a full download from me. I'm sharing everything that I've downloaded, but it seems there is only one file that anyone else wants. Right now, there are 20 currently downloading this file from me and 10 queued up. So here's my question: Is there anyway to limit the number of uploads you allow to be going on at any given time? I'm not an expert, barely even a novice, but it seems that if only like 10 were pulling from me at a time, their upload would go faster, instead of waiting all day for their download to finish because 20 other people are trying to download it too. Is my thinking wrong on this? ~Christy~ |

![]() Thank you for the directions-- I haven't even messed with the options menu because of my fear of messing things up. I probably just made 10 people really mad because I changed the number of uploads to 10 at a time (I never would have guessed that's what "slots" meant), but anyway is 10 a good number? Do you have any other recomendations for the options menu? I have T1 (at least that's what it says on my bill), I want to be as fair to the others that are trying to share as I can. ~Christy~ |

![]() If you have a fast connection then 10 is a good number whilst allowing decent upld speed for them. Some hints for settings & techniques can be found if you follow the indirect links from here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=34114 Beaten by a whisker! |
