LW's menu Tools>Options>View>Autocomplete & untick option & press Apply button.

does any one know if i can get completed downloads back after they have disappeared off the limewire page because i have pressed the vclear inactive button or turned off the computer?

Only via the library. And this is a very temperamental way of doing it!!! In most cases the files start from zero %. So ... search the file topic 1st & make sure you have the original source in your search results, then go to LW's Library window ... select the incomplete folder & select the file that was cleared ... then press the resume button. The other way of doing it is your search results may well show a file with a ripped paper. Select that one & downld. That's a much safer way to do it!
