wat is the best free antivirus and spyware programs i can download? so that my computer doesnt endup blowing up or something from viruses...

Well what is the best is a matter of opinion. Best thing to do is research what you are thinking about geting, and then make an informed decision from there on what you think may be best.

ever so bashful I am not. Try Computer Associates for antivirus, and ad-aware by Lavasoft, backed up by spybot search & destroy.

Dont take this personal or anything but ad-aware, the program itself gives spyware and viruses, jus go with spybot thats what i got.

I haven't had a virus since '98 when I got hit with "stoned empire monkey." I was a real novice then and paid the "professionals" alot of money and that monkey kicked there butts too. Since then I found several antivirus programs to be top notch, but found running two or more in those days was CPU intensive. As far as Ad-Aware goes I've been using it with Nortons or Computer Associates Personal Innoculate and have never had a virus to invade me again. They try too. Every week I am hit with several attacks but they are stopped at the e-mail or d/l. But this again goes to which is better the Chevy or the Ford??
