I've just joined Limewire and have a question. When a search for a DVD movie is complete, some of the files found seem way too small to be a movie, e.g. ***** movie - 29.0KB !

Are these actually movies or are they fake files ?

full lenth movies should be in the neiborhood of 600 to 900 mb ....true dvd quality is around 4 gb...and about the copyright thing everyone shares and d/ls these files anyway...dispite what they may tell you . and yes file size is a verry good indicator of wether or not its a fake...or if you know what extension it is it could just be a torrent for the movie ...or a virus ....or a picture of one scene of the movie or lots of other things...

be sure to right click a file you are interested in and do a Bitzi check on the file. avi files may vary from 149 mb to 700 mb depending on the quality. A dvd file is usually in the upper 600 mb range. Not all files are correctly named or even playable. Bitzi will hep you confirm this.
