I installed the free version of Limewire. I love the way I can download items but started to have problems with my computer slowing down. So I tried to upgrade to pro. I couldn't get the web site to submit my information when I tried to pay for it. Does the pro work better than the free one? I don't want to have trouble with my system. I had to restore my computer as well.
Please give me advice on this. I really like limewire but my system really slows down when I use it. My system said it was a security threat with possible spyware.

LimeWire uses JAVA.
Java uses a lot of system resources which really can slow down your computer, if your PC is not equiped to handle it.

Try another P2P program which doesnt use Java

You should try bearshare lite instead if your computer is too slow.

What are the specs on your computer. Maybe a simple hardware upgrade may help.
Hey anyone remimber the Napster days?? I used my mouse like a hotwheels car going zoom-zoom-zoom because that ol' 486, 100mhz, 72 mb. RAM, 2.1 gb HDD, 4mb video Packard Bell with a 28.8 modem & WI*** just couldn't process fast enough. Thought that 2.1 gb Western Digital harddrive could hold the universe until Napster. Had to upgrade to a 10.1gb with WIN98, then a 60 gb. I know I digress a bit but the point is hardware is every bit as important as the programming.
