Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

Saved playlists don't show in window

Hi - being totally unable to figure out how to make an initial post I am replying to this message.
Playlists save successfully, and play using WMP, but when try to open in Limewire (click the file name saved to the default directory in the Limewire Library Playlist window) the files won't appear most of the time. Default directory used: Doc and Settings\me\shared. Moving folders etc does not help. Win XP. and Limewire 4.8.1

Any help, also how in heck do you make an initial posting??

When you save a playlist it saves all the references to all the particular files & their locations. If you later move any of those files, they will then become unplayable by the playlists. Are you sure you're directing LW's media player to exactly where these playlists were saved to. I have playlists saved on different partitions w/o problems.

retrieving playlists

Files and playlist titles are all saved to the default directory and show up in the main library window, but won't show in the playlist window when the playlist is retrieved. So can't edit or play the playlist in Limewire. Changing the default opening program to Limewire does not help. Playlists show up in WMPlayer no problem. Seems to be an common problem from reading other postings.

I think I see your problem. You can only use LW's playlist function when LW's media player is enabled. Thus you'll need to go to Tools>Options>Player & tick option, press Apply & close & re-open LW. You need to have Continuous enabled on the player. It's an option to the right of the playlist.

If this doesn't fix it then I don't know. I don't have problems with mine.

Hi llamadawg

In LW tools>options>saving --- click browse --- this will open a window you can locate the folder you would like to save to --- click select ---- done
