Is Limewire Legal?
 

Ok, I know the Limewire program itself is legal. Everybody's gone over that. What I need to know is, how does one know what is legal or illegal to download from the program? Does the search engine actually tell you what is legal or not? I doubt it. We need more answers than what people have been giving on these forums, instead of saying that we're asking the same questions over and over again.

Why don't you google what you want to downld. If you find a listing for it at a professional site then it's probably copyright. Common sense goes a long way here. If it was released by a commercial company then no doubt chances are there's still a copyright upon it.

No what you need to do is research your local and national laws on what is legal or not to share or download in your area.

LimeWire is used internationaly, so an answer from someone may be false or untrue for where you live.

Use the forum search function, upper right between f.a.q. and home, and search the topic.
