Unhappy my files are gone!

I upload the files I download off of limewire onto my itunes, but somehow limewire (or part of it) was uninstalled, causing me to reinstall it. When I opened up itunes to upload my music onto my ipod, I found out that all of my files were gone! I'm hoping that all of my music wasn't deleted with limewire, but I have no idea where to find all of my files Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated!

You know don't you that if you have your iPod & iTunes set to auto update then it will delete all previous songs on the iPod & update them with the present or new playlists on your iTunes. SOunds like you need to load them manually.

If you're a mac user, go to the General Mac OSX section of the forum & look at the Sticky at the top of the list. If you're a windows user, then see the iPod tutorial link in the Sticky at the top of this section.

If I've misunderstood your problem then please say. Go to LW's Library window & select either or both Saved Files & Shared folders & press the Explore button & this will open the folders up for you to check. Do it one by one.

I'm not at all comupter savvy, so please bare with me...

I manually upload my limewire music onto itunes and earlier this week when I went to upload my music onto my ipod, I got an error message saying that some of the files could not be uploaded because they could not be found. All of these exclamation marks appeared next to more than half of my files. When I arrempted to open up limewire, it said it had to be reinstalled. When I was done reinstalling, I checked the library and could not find any of my files and the only files that remain are the incomplete ones. I'm guessing (well, really more like hoping) that all of my files could not have been deleted with limewire and that they have just been moved. But, when I tried to search for them, none of them could be found.

I'm hoping that this explaination will give you a better idea of what my problem is...sorry if I was not clear enough before!
