Default FBClock Folder

Greetings.
When I access the library shared folder, I notice a subfolder named ".FBClock Folder" in one particular location. A message along these lines was posted two years ago, and received no replies. Anyone know what it is all about, as I notice the same thing?

Default FBClock?

Hobo

This is very strange, I have used LWPro since version 4.0.5 and have never seen a subfolder called "*.FBClock Folder". Unless someone can say otherwise, I would suggest that this folder was installed by either spyware or a Trojan so run your anti-spyware and anti-virus apps and get rid of the problem.

I would also suggest that you delete this folder, along with everything in it.

Always be aware that the internet is now very dangerous, especially for the unwary and novice, and whenever you use P2P you are bringing the dangers that much closer.

Protect yourself by running up to date protection apps and do not become complacent.

Default Mac Security Problem

Dear rkapsi

Thanks for that info, it is now clear that this is a MAC issue which is best served by MAC users giving their advice, such as LOTR.

I am a PC user, running Windows XP SP1, and should not really have ventured an opinion.

However, in my own defence, Hobo did not specify he is a MAC user so I (naturally) thought this must be a kind of windows problem.

Don't worry ukbobboy01, the harsh tone wasn't towards you.

I was pretty close to not reply at all because of lack of information. Ignorance of forum rules shouldn't be rewarded!

My humble apologies and thanks. It had not occurred to me that this could be a Mac specific issue, or I would have posted in the mac forum. Neither had it occurred to me to google the query.
I have a number of queries / suggestions / matters for discussion, but I have to say that I am a bit reluctant to bring them up now.

Hobo

The problem with your query is that you have not given enough information for anyone to give an intelligent guess at or give a solution based on their own experience. Nor have you tried to help yourself, even to provide a sufficiently detailed question.

What you have said is basically, "Here is the problem but you have to guess my equipment, it's specification and how this problem occurred".

rkapsi is reminding both of us that your question cannot be answered sensibly because you have not supplied anything to go on.

You were wrong to ask such an inadequate question, without supplying any background info, and I was wrong to try and answer it.

Hobo, most people who help out in this forum, like myself, would welcome your queries, suggestions and matters for discussion but you must supply more than the very basic "Help me" type queries.

Bob,

Points well taken, and again apologies and thanks. I thought, wrongly, that every limewire user was likely to have come across this, and when I first saw it it seeemed that this might be something like"Federal Bureau of Comunication Lock folder", and became quite paranoid! it turns out that it is just part of Mac's filing system!

For the record, I run a Mac G3 OSX 10.3.9, Limewire 4.8.1 Pro.

I have just about worked out how to get the best out of the application, ... As yet I am obviously still struggling with the finer points of the Forums, .... bear with me!!
