need help! I can't delete certain mpg files that I've downloaded from Limewire!!

this is hopefully a really easy matter to fix but I wonder if anyone can help me! I've partially downloaded three different files from Limewire and decided to delete them, but now find them impossible to remove them from my hard-drive. They are all mpg's. I'll be honest and say that they are all also contain adult content. I've tried right-clicking on them, and selecting 'delete' but nothing happens. I've tried dragging them to the recycle-bin but they won't budge from the 'incomplete' folder that they are in. I've tried 'searching' for them by using the search for folders and files option from my 'start-up' button, and then when they are found, to delete them from that page but absolutely nothing happens. I've tried to delete the whole 'imcomplete' folder but I get an error sound and a box pops up which says,

Error Deleting File Or Folder
Cannot Delete PREVIE~1.MPG. Cannot find the specified file. Make sure that you specify the correct file and pathname.

these files differ from other 'normal' files in that they all have names which start 'Preview-T- which is then followed by a long number. They also differ from other files in that if you try to see their properties another error sound occurs and a little box pops up which says 'the properties for this item are not available'.

Does anyone know what kind of files these are and why I can't delete them in the normal way? I'd really like them off my computer!

thanks! Joseph

Hi littlejoe

I have encountered this 1 or 2 times from what I can remember. I don't know what operating system your using, but if WindowsXP this is how I did it.

I turned off the comp. and started it in safe mode. When the comp. first starts depress and release the F8 then select safe mode. Then I used windows explorer to locate the file and deleted it that way. Then restarted the comp. as normal. You will need administrative priviliges for the account you are doing this from.

Let us know if this helped.
