speed problems!!!!!!!!

I have really annoying speed problems. While downloading a file from 3 or 4 hosts, my speed is still between 0-3KB/s!!!!!!
How can I deal with that!!!
Help!!!!!!!!!!
Is it a matter of my dodgy wireless connection???
