I've looked at the rest of the topics and I couldn't find anything that matched my Problem. With that being said, I had to uninstall Windows XP because my comp. had a bug. Now, I moved all my stuff to a Data disk before I uninstalled. I saved my old playlists and everything. Now I have LimeWire installed again. I went to my data disk and found on of my old playlists which was saved in Windows Media Player. Windows Media Player now says that it can't play the media files. Does anyone know anyway that I can move those media files to iTunes or back to LimeWire. I would just download those again but there are a few that I can't find again on LimeWire. Much Thanks.

A playlist is simply a file with a list of songs that points to the location of the songs. A playlist contains no music. It is not an audio file. So if you move the location of the songs after you created the playlist, the playlist won't work anymore.

Answer: Move the songs back to the same location they were at the time the playlist was created.

Else don't worry about the playlists & just think about the songs & create new playlists. WMP is a playlist player. It is simply a reference player. You can re-add songs to WMP's playlist(s) by selecting the WMP media library tab, then press the Add button at the top & direct it to where the songs are.

iTunes is more durable b/c it has its own music library. You can re-add songs easily to the iTunes music library. See How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes) Of course you can create a playlist within iTunes & open that playlist within WMP (AFAIK.) I think you need to export the playlist file. I could be wrong about that point.

* I hope you saved all the songs that were in the iTunes Music Library. You did save all the songs didn't you & not just the playlists?

Hey man, maybe you'd like to share your new found information so others could get some use out of it as well?

As far as I know you can right-click the song & choose open with wmp. But I'd recommend moving your songs over to your Music folder (unless that's where you have your music downlds set to downld); Go to your LW Library window, select Saved Files folder & press the Explore button. Sample image here: Using Library Explore button to access downld folder (click on link) & the folder will open up for you. Then drag & drop or cut & paste into the Music folder. There's 2 usually. One is at C:\Music & the other at C:\Documents and Settings\"your account name"\Documents\Music. Then open WMP & choose the add option (or the search computer for media files option); Using windows media player
