Possible Virus containing File I have been reading some of the posts regarding a new virus that duplicates itself. After reading this I noticed while searching for program files, all the diffrent searches I did there was one file that kept coming up in all searches (851.7kb) I did a look up on these files and there is no information.I suspect these files containe the virus that is going around. When I brouse the host on these files most of the time they come up as (192.168.2.3:6364), 192.168.1.102:6346),192.168.1.2:6346),192.168.1.5: 6348) Are thes pepole spreading a virus ?. If anybody knows me to be wrong please correct me. Thanks and happy Trading Grandpa |
Firstly it's common knowledge that Gnutella is full of viruses. Most people do not download any programs at all from LimeWire because of this. Secondly, the 192.168.xx.xx IP class is an unroutable private IP class that is usually only used on ethernet networks. Unless you are connected to this private network (either through direct wired or wireless ethernet or VPN), those hosts are invisible to the outside world. Google for more information. Good luck. deepblue |
If your worried about it but still want to download programs, get AVG Anti-Virus but Grisoft, you can get it free from download.com, that way if you do get a virus, you can get rid of it cy |
