I really dont get it!!!! if you look on the limewire's help file is says "the more specific you make your search..........the more likely you are to find what your looking for...........ok???? However, on many occasions i've really narrowed my search down and then im presented with an error message stating "your search is too specific"!!!!!!.........whats that all about???? |
It's simple: If you get absolutely no results, make your search broader, for example, drop a word that's easily mistyped or used in different variants. If you make your search to broad like searching for "yeah" you'll get many results but hardly those you're looking for because a generic word will match a lot of files. You also risk that the ones you're searching are actually dropped in favour of other results you don't care about. |
im not totally sure you understood my point! you say "if im presented with no results.....then do the following"! however my point is the limewire service refuses to produce any results because as soon as i press search (after entering my search details) the error message appears straight away! |
See Search is too Specific (click on link) Try a general (Any Type) search instead of one of the specific type searches if you're having problems. The search chain can only be so large. Also if you make the search criteria too narrow, then it has less chance of finding results. There's other ways of getting results. Such as looking for an artist or album & then browsing those that show results. Or for video, searching a producer or main actor's name. You can also use Bitzi lookup to find out if it's listed & if yes, see what other names it's listed under. You can go to the Bitzi site & use their search engine to search their database. |
