well ive changed my bank details now so they shouldnt get anymore money and ive now erased all the fake limewire off my computer and put the basic version of the real 1 on so hopefully it will be ok now.
just gone on the 1 downloaded from off here (genuine) and all my old songs are still on the list is that ok or what ive deleted all the old limewire but just wondered if this is ok?

You are one of hundreds, if not thousands, of people who have given their money away to scam sites. But the story ends well for you because you have got your money back and taken precautions so that no more money can be extracted from you.

However, I feel sorry for the people who have been scammed but do not realise it yet, and may never realise it.

I can only guess that there must be thousands the world over quite happily using their "free" copy of LW purchased from scam sites.

For a scammer, this has got to be a great low risk way to make money, for very little outlay people who don't know any better come to your site and give you their money. And all you have to do is "nothing" but watch and collect.

hi there i havent got my money back, unfortunately, but have closed my bank account down and started a new 1 because of this, and deleted limewire and put the real 1 on, but you cant tell diference, honestly, isnt there anyway you can stop them coz this as got to be wrong, especially people like me whos new to this lot and there just ripping every1 off! thankfully the bank send you statements out otherwise i wouldnt of known!

Sorry you didn't get your money back but you really do not have anybody to blame but yourself.

The reason why your scammed LW looks the same as your proper LW is because, once you paid your money, you were given a link to LW Basic. That's what most scam sites do but some others will actually infect the program with spyware (probably in order to make more money), you were lucky that your scammer just couldn't be bothered.

And yes, it is wrong to rip people off but this game is so easy and so lucrative that anyone with some computer knowledge and criminal intentions can have a scam site up within a few hours.

In other words, it’s too easy to make money this way and too difficult to root out.

All I can say, “newbies, think before you jump”.
