Angry Warning: Trojans And Spyware.

Beware of zip files with a 851.7kb or 69.4kb as the file size, they contain the trojan Mugly and assorted spyware, i have only seen these files under the program search. My antivirus did not detect it and once the files were extracted the virus was unleashed. So be careful before downloading these files, they may sneak under your antivirus radar.

Just downloaded one of these files.....and THEN found this thread!
My Anti-virus was able to detect it and I quaranteened it.
If it is any help, it was a file for Nero 6.6.0.15a Ultra

ok you guys look, most program downloads are a form of piracy, which is a rule here not to discuss, so if you are stealing a program, do you not think your getting what you deserve. I'm not tryin to be rude, but good lord, this topic has been going on forever. If you want to know about the viruses, just read the stickies.

I have found another little fix that anyone usin LimeWire can do to prevent getting a trojan/virus. Limit the file size that show up in your search to nothing under 1.5mb. I have limewire setup like that and i don't see files of 1mb or under in the search window.

Just an idea for all that may help.

hehe grandpa. I axed the post because most users will keep on dling the viruses anyway, no matter what advice you give em. I really would like to know though why users dont understand the file sizes? lol. Something that small is not going to be a complete piece of software or game file.

Angry Sticky This

Thank you uk bob for the link. i have the same problem.
Now Sphinx, we know you can't do any thing about it, the purpose of us putting on the forum is that maybe someone who can do something about it might read these forums, just to get customer feedback.
If you have a problem understanding this just start over and read slower.
You can get your point across without being rude. So you just keep on writing your sticky's and we'll keep posting until someone with the power to do something responds.

Sphinx, i would like to thank you firstly. Has a paying customer of LimeWire i find your replies to both posts i have read not only very uninformative but also rude.

Now if this is the type of reply we the paying customers can expect to get from you on this forum then i will make this my final post.

Now just some information for you Sphinx. One day you might download an MP3 (pay attention please) that file may NOT be an MP3 but an exe file that is actually a virus that someone is passing on deliberately.
How hard is it to change a file extension from .exe to .mp3 you answer that one for me since you seem to be a very smart but rude person.

So infact you are wrong on the size as there are some small programs and games that are only 2-6mb/s which you will find is the size of the standard 128bitrate mp3...

Finishing off i would like to thank those that brought us LimeWire at it cost many can afford. Thanks to Sphinx's rudeness i can now afford to remove the program and myself from this forum..
