Unhappy New LW, Java & computer. What now?

As per the heading, I've done all of the above after a bit of necessity & a ton o' grief. I still have a whack of tunes on the old computer & wish to know how to install all into LW for my pleasure & your sharing.
Hints asap? I'm about to throw everything over to the new machine shortly.
Anywhere to install recommended?
How do I import to LW (which is where everything came from) from the newly loaded hard drive?
Sorry if this appears stupid, but I don't need another calamity like the one which led to the remedy (6 weeks w/out LW & counting) and I don't want to lose what I already have.
Thanks.

Just to reiterate what I told you earlier.

Downld LW & install to your new computer.

If you had successfully used LW at an earlier time, then you should move the entire incomplete folder (with 'all' files within it!) And replace the incomplete folder after installation. But this should be done whilst LW is closed.

As for shared files, well, it doesn't really matter unless you used them in a playlist with WMP. Playlists are simply a file with a list of titles that points the player to the location of the song files. If you later move the location of the songs then the playlist won't work. That's something some people don't realise. So if you have lots of saved playlists, you'd need to set up an identical directory path for them on the new comp.

If you don't have playlists then it doesn't matter where you put your tunes. You can add tunes to share from anywhere. But you'd do that manually. Tools>Options>Sharing & add folder, or LW Library window menu File>Add folder to share.
