# generally represents a number as in number of. So for LW it means how many sources or people your search found have that same file.

thats how many people have the file, to host it right?

Lord of the Rings July 14th, 2005 03:48 PM

Almost right! That's how many people your particular search found at that particular time that host the file. A search an hour later may find different results. People come & go on/offline all the time. There's Gnutella users from all over the world in different time zones. What's more, any search may not find all sources of a file. That's why uploading files helps. It helps you to connect to other people & find more sources when searching.
